International gynecologic cancer society (IGCS) 2021 meeting reportThe 2021 annual global meeting of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) was held between August 30 and September 2, 2021 as a fully virtual meeting. The meeting, initially planned as a “hybrid” meeting to be held in Rome, Italy, was transitioned to a fully virtual meeting due to concern for the safety of international delegates as a result of the COVD-19 global pandemic. The program committee, co-chaired by Drs. Ana Oaknin (Spain) and Matthew Powell (USA), assembled a robust program that included master sessions in cervix, ovary, uterine and vulvar cancer, tumor boards, oral and featured posters sessions.
The American Society of Clinical Oncology 2021 annual (virtual) meeting: A review and summary of selected abstractsThe 2021 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 57th annual meeting was, once again, held virtually but continued to deliver innovative approaches to cancer care. Under the leadership of Dr. Lori Pierce, Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Michigan, the meeting highlighted both progress and opportunities in oncology with an emphasis on addressing equity. During the opening presentation, it was noted that cancer mortality has dropped by 30% since the 1990's and this is in large part due to cancer screening, prevention, decline in tobacco use, and cancer treatment advances.
Meeting report from the 2020 Annual (virtual) Meeting of the American Society of Clinical OncologyThe 2020 56th annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) was held virtually for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though you may not have missed the $10 muffins, we missed the opportunity to network with our colleagues. Fortunately, this year's scientific content was second to none. The meeting was led by ASCO president Howard Burris III, medical oncologist at Sarah Cannon Research Institute and Tennessee Oncology and the theme of the meeting was “Unite and Conquer; Accelerating Progress Together”.
The 2020 SGO Annual Meeting ReportWhen we thought of this theme for the 2020 Annual Meeting well over a year ago, we did not anticipate that the vision for the future would entail rapid evolution of how we interact, function, care for patients, and advance science as a Society. And while we were unable to have our Annual Meeting in person, we were given the opportunity to grow as Program Chairs and as a Program Committee to adapt to these new challenges encountered. This was a year that brought about a significant amount of new information from trials around the world with broad-ranging impact on the current and future practice of gynecologic oncology.
European society of medical oncology (ESMO) 2019 meeting report features practice changing data in gynecologic malignanciesMultiple practice changing studies were presented at the 2019 ESMO Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The ovarian cancer studies presented at the Presidential session will likely refine and redefine the initial treatment of ovarian cancer. Other compelling trial data in ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer were also unveiled. The key oral abstracts from this meeting are summarized in this meeting report.

The 2019 program committee, chaired by Nadeem Abu-Rustum, Professor and Chair of Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, included representatives from all regions of the world to assist in identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges facing their regions as well as submissions of scientific abstracts for peer review.
The American Society of Clinical Oncology 2019 annual meeting: A review and summary of selected abstractsThe 2019 55th annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) was held in Chicago, Illinois, led by ASCO president Monica Bertagnolli, the division director of surgical oncology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. The theme of the meeting, and the title of her Presidential Address, was “Caring for Every Patient, Learning from Every Patient.” In her address, Dr. Bertagnolli explained that the theme of the meeting represents a lofty goal: “that every person with cancer will have access to high-quality care, and also will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research.” In line with the meeting's theme, the main plenary session included a diversion from the usual clinical trial paradigm: Dr.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology 2017 Annual Meeting: A review and summary of selected abstractsThis year the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting took place from June 2–6, 2017 again in Chicago, Illinois. The theme for this year's meeting was: Making a difference in Cancer Care with YOU. This statement set the tone for a meeting focusing on the personalization of cancer care both by biomarker driven trials and targeted therapies. It represented a celebration of the collaboration among cancer caregivers, physicians, NPs, PAs, RNs and families. Delivering on this theme, the main plenary session contained papers on a large metanalysis in colorectal cancer, phase III studies in targeted therapy for prostate cancer and breast cancer plus a novel patient reported outcome process that improved overall survival (OS) across cancer subtypes.
