      ] reported on beneficial effects of selenium on several toxicity parameters in patients undergoing cisplatin and cyclophosphamide chemotherapy compared to those who did not receive selenium. However, the title of this paper does not reflect that several additional supplements including β-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, riboflavin, and niacin had been coadministered to the study patients also as stated in the Materials and methods section. Thus, the beneficial effects found in this study might also be attributable to the vitamin formulation used.
